Arrival during major events

During major events, the parking lots on Nemunas Island near Zalgirio Arena are blocked off and can only be used by accredited organizers, event participants, buses, VIP skybox renters and a limited number of event visitors who have purchased a parking permit for the event in advance in the ADC Parking system. We therefore recommend that you arrive by public transport.

Public transport is the best choice

To avoid cues and traffic, we recommend using public transportation to reach the. The arena is a mere 10-to-15-minute walk from the following bus: Gedimino St., Studentų Skveras or Griunvaldo St.

After the events, we offer a special Zalgirio Arena bus service, marked ŽA. There are 6 separate bus routes on offer: ŽA2, ŽA3, ŽA4, ŽA5, ŽA6 and ŽA7, that all head towards different areas of the city. The bus trip on the ŽA bus costs the same as using a regular city bus service, and you can also use the e-tickets as per usual. Please see the information for each event to find out if these buses are running.

Taxis are not allowed to access the Zalgirio Arena parking lot during events. Non-event access to the arena is possible if the carrier has the ADC Parking app with a linked bank card and the corresponding license plate number. For more information, click here.

Parking with ADC Parking

During non-event time, you can leave your vehicle in the Zalgirio Arena car park for free for three hours using the ADC Parking app. During events, you can purchase a parking permit on the platform. The app must be linked to a bank card and the license plate number of the car.

Visitors with physical disabilities can park their cars on level zero of the Arena's car park. Access to the Arena is via Entrance 22 if tickets are on floor 0 or floor 1, and via Entrance 23 if tickets are on floor 0.

Where should I park my car during events?

During the events, you can park your car for a fee in the parking lot next to Zalgirio Arena. You can buy parking on the ADC parking website. Parking is only available to visitors who have purchased parking in advance and only for the car they have registered in ADC parking platform. Cars will be admitted through both the Karmelitu and A. Mickevicius bridges according to the registered car number. Control at the entrances will be carried out automatically by checking the number plates in the system. Free parking is available in the parking lot of the shopping and entertainment center Akropolis for 4 hours, or other public parking spots in the city center of Kaunas.

After the event is finished, traffic from Zalgirio Arena and Kaunas Akropolis is blocked until the pedestrians have crossed the bridges from the arena. Depending on the number of spectators, traffic could be withheld for 30-40 minutes.

When do doors for the events open?

Doors are opened 1-2 hours before the start of the event. Visit the Zalgirio Arena events page for more detailed information on a specific event.

How do I get to Zalgirio Arena?

During the major events the parking lot next to Zalgirio Arena is closed to public and is accessible only by accredited organizers, participants and VIP Skybox renters. We recommend taking public transport or taxi to the events. The Arena is within 5-10 minutes walking distance from the ‘Gedimino g.’, ‘Studentu skveras’ and ‘Griunvaldo g.’ bus stops.

Taxis are allowed to drive up to the arena only to drop off or pick up passengers.

Is there public transport after the events?

After the major events (except amphitheater events and exhibitions) buses will take you home right from Zalgirio Arena. You can find out if there will be special buses after the event at the information for each event. Buses marked ŽA (ŽA2, ŽA3, ŽA4, ŽA5, ŽA6, ŽA7) run on six different routes and will take you to practically any part of the city. The price of the ŽA buses are identical to that of regular public transport trips and regular e-tickets are valid.

Is there a wheelchair accessible entrance to Zalgirio Arena?

People with reduced mobility who require access to the first floor of Zalgirio Arena will find it easiest to use the separate entrance on the left side of the main door. The ones seated in the VIP kyboxes or the stalls will find access through the zero floor VIP Skyboxes entrance. Elevators are available throughout the arena for improved mobility. Special parking is available in the zero floor of the parking lot and can be accessed via the Karmelitu bridge, going down to the bottom parking lot (under the roof).

How do I get to an event in the SDG amphitheater?

The organizers of the event will announce which entrance is to be used for guests on the Zalgirio Arena website. If it is the 1st entrance, you will be able to access the SDG amphitheater by the A. Mickeviciaus pedestrian bridge. Upon reaching the crossing marked in black, follow it until you reach the entrance. If the 2nd entrance is announced, you should go behind Zalgirio Arena, towards the restaurant Sala. There will be signs and markings helping you along the way.
