Zalgiris arena is going to use green strategy

Clean environment and energy recourses saving – this is how Zalgiris arena is planning to become first green Arena in Baltic countries. Zalgiris arena administration is planning to implement this strategy in the nearest future. Green strategy is going to increase arena efficiency Green strategy is becoming more and more popular around the world; sadly this strategy is not so popular in Lithuania. Just a few Lithuanian companies are planning their work by thinking about environment and energy saving, that’s why this sphere has big potential. ‘’We own one of the most innovated entertainments and sports infrastructure at Lithuania, that’s why we have to be innovators at hole areas.’’ – said Zalgiris arena Executive director Asta Ivanauskienė. ”Green strategy is going to help us to protect our surrounding as well as to save large amount of energy recourses. New technologies and cost reducing strategies is going to ensure even larger Zalgiris arena competitiveness.” More and more arenas across the world are implementing green strategy. Germany Berlin and Hamburg O2 arenas are already using energy saving technologies, such as colleting rain water for wastewater system. Zalgiris arena is planning use all the experience and proven green solutions from the arenas who is already using green strategy. Our visitors are going to help us to become green By showing flawless customer service Zalgiris arena employees is going to follow the green strategy. We are going to use materials which help to reduce pollution. Furthermore, we are planning to save electricity, water and many others energy resources. ‘’We are planning to put a lot of effort to increase waste sorting. In the nearest future we will be only using recycled paper for our informational leaflets and other type of advertisement. Moreover, we are planning to install sorting bins around Zalgiris arena, so we will encourage our visitors to think green.’’ – said Asta Ivanauskienė. Second step of green strategy is electronic archives and electronic service promotion. This strategy is going to save paper as well as save time for our customers and employees. The customers will be able to use electronic tickets at their mobile devices or computer devices. Furthermore, we are going to install motion sensors in Arena hallways. ‘’We are going to use it only when we have no events, so our visitors is not going to feel any discomfort.’’ – commented A. Ivanauskienė. Next season Zalgiris arena is going to promote people to eat healthy food, by increasing menu; also we are preparing special gifts for visitors who is coming to arena by bicycle. About the company: Kaunas Zalgiris arena is one of the largest arenas at the Baltic countries. Throe the sports events arena can have from 12 300 to 15 688 visitors, from 2 574 to 17 500 visitors on concerts and about 15 400 visitors at circus performance. Zalgiris arena owns special lightning for sports events, concerts or chamber music events as well as perfect conditions and equipment for sound records.
