The authors of “Žygimanto Augusto ir Barboros Radvilaitės legenda” present a new Lithuanian musical “Mindaugas Karalius”. This is the most awaited premiere of the director and choreographer Anzelika Cholina, composer Kipras Mašanaskas, the libretto author Romas Lileikis and stage designer Marius Jacovsky.
Two of the most influential pages of Lithuanian history are depicted in the two-hour musical: XIII century, the coronation and baptism of Mindaugas, stalled negotiations with the crusaders. Also, King’s diplomatic insights and desire to protect his country. Lastly, intrigues and attempts by baptized non-supporters, sometimes in the most extreme ways, to seize power.
