“The Hiperbolė Legends will sing again! On the occasion of the band’s fiftieth anniversary, a tour of major Lithuanian arenas

50 years is half a century in human years. But is that a big number for a music group? Fans will be able to ask the members of Hiperbolė this question as 2024 marks exactly 50 years since the legendary rock band was formed. To mark the occasion, the members of Hiperbolė are going to rock the country’s biggest arenas. Back to the audience with new energy and old time-tested songs. And how did the journey of the band, beloved by listeners, begin?

How did a simple student band become the rock band everyone loves

The story of Hiperbolė began in the spring of 1974, when students of the Vilnius Engineering Construction Institute had the idea to form a group of faculty musicians. The first performances took place in local discos. Despite Soviet censorship and criticism, the musical level of the group rose like clockwork, and it was not long before Hiperbolė reached the peak of its popularity.

“Times were different then – wild. It wasn’t as easy to become popular then as it is now. A Soviet student couldn’t wear long hair, jeans, play the guitar, let alone an electric one. But we had an endless passion for singing, which helped us overcome all obstacles,” the members of Hiperbolė share their memories.

Over the years, the band has played countless concerts, released numerous albums and captured the hearts of hordes of fans, who to this day still eagerly repeat the lyrics to their hit songs.

They’ll be singing!

In 2024, fans will again have the opportunity to remember the Lithuanian rock classics, enjoy the live sound and see their favourite performers Igor Berin (vocals, guitar), Viktoras Praparas (vocals, keys) and Arvydas Šnaras (percussion).

“It will be the same old Hiperbolė,” the band says. “Pamiršk Mane”, “Išgalvotas gyvenimas”, “Aš dar dainuosiu”, “Laužai” and many others.

“Some listeners will remember singing these songs with us in concerts. Others will be reminded of their youth. And for others, they might be a completely new discovery. We are happy that our music still unites a huge number of listeners of all ages,” say the Hiperbolė artists.

The audience will be entertained not only by everyone’s favourite Hiperbolė hits, but also by special performances by invited guests. Unforgettable impressions and a lot of old, time-tested songs await the audience.
