Here and Now: Delfinai

The legendary Lithuanian pop music group Delfinai is announcing a comeback. The band members Stanislovas Stavickis-Stano and Viačeslavas Saninas-Sweetas, who went their separate ways in 2004, will take the stage together for one evening next April 5th and rock the Kaunas “Žalgirio” arena.

When dreams become reality

During their teenage years, Stano and Sweetas, who dreamed of a career and fame, founded the band Delfinai while still at school, and tried to offer the song “Svajonės” recorded in the 11th grade to all record companies and radio stations. Finally, the guys’ efforts bore fruit – Stano received a call from one of the famous recording studios at the time.

The hit “Dreams” released in 2000 immediately captured the hearts of listeners, and a year later the group’s first album of the same name was released, becoming one of the best-selling in Lithuania and bringing many awards, including the “Bravo” debut of the year title.

The duo of Stan and Sweet released three more albums together and quickly became one of the most popular groups in Lithuania. However, in 2004. Sweet decided to go abroad, so he left the group, and Stan, who continued active activities with “Delfinai” for another five years, from 2009. decided to be introduced by his pseudonym, not the group name.

An unexpected meeting turned into a comeback

A few years ago, Stano unexpectedly shared a photo with Sweet, who currently lives in Ireland. They had not seen each other in person for over ten years. Although there was no talk of a comeback at the time, it planted an idea in the minds of the former band members, which has now become a reality – on April 5, “Delfinai” will return for their only concert at Kaunas “Žalgiris” arena.

After more than 20 years, fans will have a unique opportunity to see and hear Stano and Sweet on the largest stage of the Lithuanian arena together with a live band, who will perform the most popular hits of “Delfinai” from their eight albums, and the only concert will be called “ČIA ir DABAR”. Almost the same as the last album, released in 2007.

The festive evening of the band’s comeback will delight fans with hits such as “Saulė”, “Svajonės”, “Kai tu šalė”, “Žvaigždė”, “Žemyn”, “Man reikia tėvės”, “Ačiū tau” or this year Stanos together with DJ Jovani released an updated version of the song “Viskas bus gerai” and many other songs that will take you back to the early 2000s.

The band members, who will briefly revive the history of “Delfinai”, reveal that they will have special guests on stage, but they will introduce them as the event approaches. The band’s only concert “ČIA ir DABAR” will take place on April 5, 2025 at the Kaunas “Žalgiris” arena.
