The Fairy Tale Tree is a large-scale musical performance for the whole family, designed to be performed in large arenas. The music was composed by jazz pianist Artūras Anusauskas, professor at the Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre, and the libretto and lyrics were written by Andrius Rožickas, a presenter of shows and events.
The musical fairy tale brings together more than twenty of the most popular fairy tale characters – Cinderella, the Prince, Snow White, the Puss in Boots, Coliukė, the Witch, the Three Little Pigs, and others, who are helped by the main character – a girl – to find their lost happy endings.
The production of The Fairy Tale Tree will feature a live band and children’s ensemble, as well as a set design and visual effects enhanced with modern technology.
The main roles will be played by young and promising performers as well as those with extensive stage experience. A creative team of more than 100 people, including 12 soloists, nearly 60 dancers, a young choir, a live band, a team of creative and technical staff, and partners from Canada, is looking forward to meeting the audience.
Each audience member will be given the opportunity to participate interactively in the action of the performance.
Upon entering the auditorium, the audience will receive special illuminated wristbands that are remotely programmable and can change the colours and the rate of glow.
These wristbands are given to spectators of major global events (Eurovision, the Olympic Games, concerts by world-famous artists, sports matches). In Lithuania, this will be a complete novelty. Depending on the action, the wristbands will change colour, and the heroes of the performance will interact with the audience, drawing them into the action.
