The most promising prospects of European basketball are gathering in the Žalgirio arena on January 12-14. The capital of Lithuanian basketball is welcoming the 15th edition of Euroleague Basketball adidas Next Generation Junior Tournament. For the fifth time one of four qualification tournaments will be organized by BC Žalgiris Kaunas.

Eight teams from seven countries will strive for the opportunity to seal the ticket to Istanbul to compete against the best under-18 teams. The main adidas Next Generation Junior Tournament will be held in parallel with the Turkish Airlines Euroleague Final Four on May 19-21.

Junior teams from all across the Europe gathered in Kaunas also in 2012, 2014, 2015 and 2016. Back then Žalgiris Kaunas won the tournaments behind MVPs Tomas Dimša, Martynas Varnas, Martynas Echodas and Isaiah Hartenstein. This time the hosts will compete in Group B with VEF Riga of Latvia, CSKA Moscow of Russia and Canarias Basketball Academy Las Palmas of Spain. While Group B will see battles between Lietuvos Rytas Vilnius of Lithuania, Fenerbahce Istanbul of Turkey, CFBB Paris of France and Fraport Skyliners of Germany.

Group games will be played on January 12th and 13th. On Saturday, January 14th, all the teams will find out their places in the tournament and the group winners will face each other in the final.
