KOVACS

For those looking for something new, modern and stylish!

Kovacs, the Dutch soul singer who has captured the hearts of Europe, will perform in Kaunas

25 May. Kovacs, the Dutch soul prodigy, will give her only performance in Lithuania on May 25 in Kaunas. The singer with a unique look and a unique sense of style has not only conquered the hearts of music connoisseurs, but has also become a true phenomenon of contemporary culture. The talented young artist will present her third studio album “Child Of Sin” in Kaunas, which was released only a month ago, but has already received great critical acclaim.

KOVACS

Sharon Kovacs (her real name) was born in 1990 in Eindhoven, The Netherlands. She learned to sing before she could speak and became seriously interested in music in her teens. After leaving school, Sharon used to attend open mic parties in bars where she worked as a waitress. She quickly became a local star and enrolled at the Rock City Institute in Eindhoven, where she was accepted after just two auditions. However, the teachers themselves did not know what to do with such an expressive vocal – it was too hot and passionate for the delicate Dutch way. But she defied all standards and bravely went her own way, drawing inspiration from music goddesses like Betty Davis, Etta James, Tina Turner, Nina Simone and Billie Holliday.

In 2014, Kovacs recorded her first EP, My Love, with the help of renowned music producer Oscar Holleman. Partly recorded in Cuba, the tango noir-styled work quickly became a European hit and topped radio playlists.

In 2015, it was time for their debut album, Shades of Black. The album captivated audiences and topped the charts in 36 countries, the top 10 in Germany and the number one spot in the singer’s home country of the Netherlands. More than 60 million YouTube views, a contract with the Viva Paris model agency, numerous awards and the opportunity to perform in front of Robbie Williams – Kovacs has it all. The talented music diva has also won the prestigious EBBA Award and performed at festivals such as Rock am Ring, Glastonbury, Sziget and others.

Kovacs’ second album Cheap Smell (2018) was one of the most open and honest soul albums of the decade, named after her last band (before her solo career) and dedicated to finding the positive in life’s most difficult situations.

Kovacs’ third and latest album, Child Of Sin, is released on 13 January 2023. The album was co-written and produced by Jonathan Quarmby, who has previously worked with James Morrison, Mika, Nancy Sinatra, The Pretenders and other renowned bands. The album’s title track is a duet with Rammstein’s Till Lindemann. Kovacs says of his latest work, “My third album is the culmination of everything I have learned over the last few years. I’ve collected all the masks of my past and tried to portray them in this work. It was very symbolic in my subconscious, because in the making of this album all my own masks just took off and disappeared. “Child of Sin” is who I am. Kovacs. One hundred percent natural and open”.
