For the third year in a row, Kaunas awarded its’ top athletes, sports clubs, coaches and other community members. The year’s most memorable victories and greatest achievements were remembered and Zalgiris was an often repeated word throughout the night.

Zalgirio Arena received an award for hosting the sports event of the year, the Division I, Group B IIHF World Hockey Championship. The Lithuanian hockey national team rose victorious in the tournament.

After turning heads all over Europe and reaching third place in the EuroLeague, Zalgiris was unsurprisingly named the best men;s sports team of 2018.

The honors stayed with the green-and-whites in the Coach of the Year category as well, as Sarunas Jasikevicius took the honors with little-to-no competition.
